The Harborage at Ashley Marina is located within walking distance to nearby historic downtown Charleston. The Ashley Marina accommodates vessels up to 150 ft in length with approximately 235 convenient slips. The project will include the demolition of the over the water existing diesel fuel system. All fuel will be purged from the existing fuel piping and properly disposed. Existing meters will be removed and replaced with new state-of-the-art LC Marina fuel meters. Future installation of UL-971 2” double wall Brugg fuel piping will take place onshore and over the water. The new fuel distribution double wall piping will include the removal and replacement of the onshore valve sump, fixed dock valve sump, and the installation of new fiberglass watertight access sumps throughout the existing fuel system.
The fuel system design will follow PEI/RP-1000. The onshore access valve sump will contain a shutoff valve, breakaway valve and a liquid sump sensor to meet all mandated compliance requirements. The existing Veeder-root compliance monitoring system will be upgraded to maintain State of South Carolina environmental compliance.
When the repeat client met with our design staff, the client communicated to us what his goals where for his new system upgrade. We listened. A strict schedule, minimum down time, and continued access for slip holders to all amenities during construction. The client has a state of the art facility that exceeded expectations that was within his budget.
